Mark your calendars!

Coming to play the open mic?
Here's what to expect:

Those interested in participating in the open mic will need to submit their names by 6:45pm.

The first half of the evening, starting at 7:00pm, will be ~45min performance from a featured artist we've invited to play. We will take a short break and start the Open Mic portion of the evening around 8pm, choosing the lineup for the evening and announcing beforehand. We will wrap up the evening around 9:30pm.

$10 Donations at the door will fund future Open Mic Series, including series features and more workshops. We hope you'll join us Thursdays this Fall and support the local music scene. There is free tea and often cookies and other treats available.

Why no Open Mics In January, June, July, or August? The Music Mansion is closed due to weather's extremes in the Winter and Summertime. It takes a lot to heat the historic building and there is no air conditioning installed in the Listening Room. We run our concert series, and open mic series, during months when the Mansion is open to hosting our community series.

Season 42 | Open Mic & Workshop
In 2024, we started our Open Mic Night with a generous donation from the Episcopal Diocese of Rhode Island.  In the Fall, we invited four workshop members who were making the rounds of local open mics to be given an opportunity to play as featured artists to practice their performance skills and try new work. In the Spring, we focused on two featured acts - providing the same critique-free environment. We had a wonderful time and we hope you check out their individual gigs around the state!
